GYTR Gen 2 Turbo Kit for YXZ1000

This is our recommendation for a turbo kit for the YXZ 1000. I'm sure you have read the Yamaha specs for the turbo kit so let me give you our take. The heart of the turbo kit is the turbocharger. This is where most companies skimp as good ones can cost five times what cheap ones cost. This kit does not skimp and comes with a real made in Japan Garrett turbo. A gt2860rs to be exact. This is not a cheap overseas knockoff like most kits are using. This turbo is also ball bearing, a significant upgrade over most of the cheaper journal bearing turbochargers offered by other companies. The ball bearing offers much quicker on and off throttle response and turbo spool up. This is where most companies cheap out but not Yamaha. This turbo is big enough to support 350hp if you feel the need.

This kit includes a complete new ECU that can read boost pressure with a map sensor like a factory turbo car should. This is why most other companies selling turbo kits use piggy back controllers to alter the ECU as they couldn't make a new ECU like Yamaha has done. Yamaha's solution is much much better and much more refined and offers much better drivability as well as engine protection. The intercooler included with this kit is air to water. Most other kits are air to air as it is cheaper and a bit simpler. The air to water is a better solution as water cools much better than air and keeps your intake temps much more consistent. Air to water also gives faster spool times due to shorter charge pipes and no big volume intercooler needed to fill to build pressure every time you get on and off the throttle. This kit includes everything you need and is OEM quality ensuring a good fit. Down the road if you decide you want more build your engine add a simple ECU re-flash and make over 300hp. There are cheaper kits out there but for the little you save it isn't worth it as they simply cannot compare.

Alba Stage Options:
Stage 1: This flash de-restricts the GYTR ECU giving you full RPM in 5th gear, no speed limiter, and lowered fan activation temp +399$
Stage 2: This flash is for a stock engine, stock injectors w/ Aftermarket exhaust. This will make 200HP and includes all the benefits listed in STG1 +399$ (
Stage 3: This flash includes 1000cc Injectors +569$, +399$ ECU (requires built engine) and will make up to 300hp
Stage 4: This flash includes 1000cc injectors, regulator, pump, wastegate. Up to 350hp. Coming soon
Stage 5: This flash includes 1000cc injectors, regulator, pump, wastegate, Alba Cams Up to 370hp. Coming soon

Staged options

-Stage 1 Designed for a stock engine and stock injectors. This flash will allow you to turn your stock boost up to 8 psi from 6. This is the maximum you can run on the stock injectors as they are running at 100% duty cycle.

-Stage 2 Designed for a stock engine and stock injectors with an open exhaust. A YXZ 1000 with a GYTR kit will run much better with an open exhaust. Your turbo will also spool quicker and the car will just be more fun to drive. Due to the large hp increase we do need to alter the flash accordingly.

-Stage 3 Designed for a built engine with open exhaust and our 1000cc injectors. With this kit you can run up to 18 pounds of boost. You can add a boost controller and adjust your boost on the fly as needed. You will need race fuel for over 12 psi. You must have exhaust for this kit (our SBD tip or a slip on) and a BUILT MOTOR (Pistons, Rods, Valve Springs, Tensioner, Head Studs)

-Stage 4 Same as stage 4 with added fuel pressure regulator with return line setup, Larger fuel pump, billet fuel pump bracket, lines and fittings. With this kit you can run up to 20 psi. This kit is being tested now and will be available shortly.

-Stage 5 Same as stage 5 with added camshafts. This cams will add about 20hp from mid to top end with no loss in bottom end. This kit is being tested now and will be available shortly
