Cam chain tensioner developed at Alba Racing to be used on a LTZ 400 for Baja Racing.  This allows you to maintain your automatic tensioner even when it runs out of adjustment.  This will basically extend your cam chain adjuster and rid your engine of the terrible cam chain clatter noise which these motors are known for. We have been using this part for 5 plus years. Never one failure. Was used in factory Suzuki Baja race bikes.  Much more reliable than a manual tensioner and it is maintenance free. Less than ten minutes to install. Simple hand tools are all that is required. Much easier to install than a cam chain and guide.  Instructions included. So I purchased a used LTZ 400 (2003) from a buddy. The engine was making some noise that was either the valves or the cam chain. I opened it up and the intake valves were too tight, so after I installed the new shims, I inspected the chain and it appeared serviceable. The stock automatic tensioner was at the limit of its extension.

I started the bike, and it was quieter than when I first got it, but I could still hear the cam chain noise. I purchased this product, and after a few days, it arrived.

It is a nicely manufactured piece and it comes with instructions. After removing the stock tensioner and driving out the roll pin, I had some trouble re-installing the ALBA racing part onto the stock tensioner. Seems the holes would not align and were slightly off.

I can't say if this is due to manufacturing tolerance differences in the Suzuki part, or the tensioner adapter. Easy fix. Took off about .001-.002 inch with a bench grinder and the part fit easily.

It took all of 15 minutes to do this job, and after starting it up, it sounds like a new machine. No cam chain slap. Real tight. I will take it out tomorrow to CA City and put it through its paces, but as for how the product seems to work, It was well worth the money. I didn't give it 5 stars only cause of the grinding issue, but if it does as it seems, this is an excellent and well made product.
